A 20-minute sports documentary following Dani Fusco House within the British Sailing “Crew 4 Gold” programme, as she strives to earn her place in elite sailing.

Following a career-ending injury in rowing, Dani is selected for British Sailing's “Crew 4 Gold” talent transfer programme. Thrown into the demanding world of elite sailing, she must quickly adapt to a new sport, new team dynamics, and the relentless pressure to perform at the highest level. As setbacks mount and expectations rise, she is forced to redefine what it means to compete.

Director's statement

This documentary explores athlete transition within elite sport, focusing on the physical and psychological demands of moving between disciplines. It follows Dani Fusco House as she enters the “Crew 4 Gold” programme, an initiative run by the Royal Yachting Association with British Sailing and UK Sport, funded by The National Lottery. The programme identifies athletes from other sports and supports their transition into Olympic-class sailing through talent transfer.

Dani's journey represents a rarely seen pathway into elite sailing, challenging traditional entry routes and highlighting evolving opportunities within women's sport. With only two years of sailing experience, her progression into a high-performance sailing environment is both unusual and compelling, and is allowed to speak for itself through an observational approach.
